Future Cooperation and Optimum Value bring water airports to Greece

The consulting firms Future Cooperation and Optimum Value are joining forces to collaborate on creating the infrastructure of the future in Greece: water airports!

Leveraging its extensive experience in projects related to the licensing, operation, and management of water airports in the country, Future Cooperation, through this new collaboration, will provide advisory support for projects involving the licensing of new facilities and supporting infrastructure to accommodate and sustain seaplanes and their flight operations.

Specifically, by signing the contract, Future Cooperation will undertake:

  • Conducting a compatibility study for seaplanes and their integration with other activities, such as cruises and regional airports in Greece
  • Preparing a water airport development handbook for municipalities, providing guidance on the possibilities for establishing and operating water airports
  • Providing advisory support in organizing and conducting informational meetings on the development of the water airport network and its benefits for local authorities (municipalities).

The water airport network being developed in Greece aims to directly connect destinations, giving priority to the islands as well as coastal and lakeside areas, and to tourist resorts with private marinas.

Seaplanes offer the competitive advantage of easy air transport for passengers and goods, and the water airports are expected to play a crucial role in facilitating their rapid access throughout the country.
